Planning Permission

Suggestion: Tie planning to the applicant (similar to licensing laws)

Reason: To discourage this buy and sell mentality that results in sites being left undeveloped for quick profits!

Planning Notices

Suggestion: Require the display of planning notices to be proven up to the day before the decision is made.

Reason: To stop the destruction of planning notices!

Stopping Up Orders

Suggestion: Stopping Up Orders, to close Public highways and Rights of way should be advertised on the Planning Portal!

Reason: Because nobody knows about them until its too late and we the public deserve to have a fair say! This process should move with the times and be more transparent!

Disused railway lines

Suggestion: Protect all disused railway lines from development that will prevent the creation of linear walking/cycling paths whilst enabling sites to be developed around them.

Reason: Developments are still occurring on disused lines that will prevent the creation and extension of useful walking and cycling paths!

Housing/Village developments

Suggestion: Prohibit the development of large scale housing/village developments that aren’t centered around rail based transport!

Reason: To encourage public transport use!

Independent Cinemas

Suggestion: Lower tax rates for independent Cinemas!

Reason: Many independent Cinemas are in historic grade 2 listed buildings, which can’t easily be used for anything else!

Council meetings

Suggestion: Force all Councils across the Country to allow members of the public to ask questions at Council meetings, as some do already!

Reason: To improve transparency!

Metro Mayors

Suggestion: Force Metro Mayors to hold meetings once every three months where members of the public can ask them questions!

Reason: To improve transparency!

Banks and Post Offices

Suggestion: Require Banks and Post offices to publish their usage data when they wish to close branches!

Reason: To restore trust in Banks and Post Offices!

Airports

Suggestion: Prohibit the classification of important infrastructure such as Airports as Brownfield sites!

Reason: To discourage Airports and other important infrastructure being ran down and closed in order to redevelop them for profit!

Bus Companies

Suggestion: Force bus companies to publish annual statistics on the number of complaints they receive!

Reason: To encourage companies to act upon complaints and do better also to increase public confidence.

Bus Stops

Suggestion: Provide proper seats at bus stops so we can sit down. ie like we used to do!

Reason: To encourage folk to use public transport.

Railway Ticketing

Suggestion: Unify all Ticket machines to one standard design!

Reason: To simplify an over complicated rail network at the Customer interface!

Suggestion: National Rail to take over nationwide rail ticketing.

Reason: To simplify an over complicated rail network and give National Rail a purpose!

Public toilets

Suggestion: make public toilets free to use!

Reason: nobody should be penalised for wishing to excersise their bodily functions in a legitimate way!
